Egon Schiele in Vienna
The Kallir Research Institute is working with the Belvedere Museum in Vienna on a forthcoming exhibition (date to be announced) tentatively titled Time of Change: Egon and Edith Schiele, 1914-18. The exhibition will focus on the last years of Schiele’s life: his marriage and experiences during World War I, and their impact on his work. In addition to providing curatorial assistance, the KRI has arranged for the loan of Edith Schiele’s diary, never before exhibited or published.
Smithsonian American Art Museum
The Kallir Research Institute is presently coordinating a long-term gifting program intended to establish a Grandma Moses study center at the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM). The anticipated donations will include at least 15 major Grandma Moses paintings as well as archival materials. Complementing the donations and ancillary new research, SAAM will present a Moses retrospective at a date to be announced.
